Welcome

We are the owners of a 1.4 hectare block of land on the Central Coast.

The site includes areas of rainforest which have been badly overrun by non-native plants. Our project is to restore the rainforest and to build an environmentally sustainable house on the site.

This blog records the bush regeneration work we are undertaking and the progress on building the house.

Photos from week starting 26th September

There were not so many big steps forward this week as most of the work being done was in preparing the walls for the painter.  However, it was exciting to see the coloured glass being fitted into the bathrooms.  This was one of areas where we weren't totally sure how it would turn out; but fortunately it looks fantastic.

Glass panel fitted on wall in the main bathroom shower.  The colour is Liquid Silver from British Paints

In the foreground you can just see that they have fitted the shower screen

The skirting boards in the bathroom are also glass (with white coating)

The ceiling fan has been fitted in the main bedroom.  The design is really funky

The kitchen units have been wrapped in advance of the painter starting

The retaining structure for the planter box has been built

The retaining walls around the carpark are finished and a new gravel surface has been laid

Last week I showed pictures of the drain that Kim and Amie built by the dam.  It really poured on Sunday and this photo shows how effective the drain is

Teh rainwater no longer ponds on the road and flows into the gully
