Welcome

We are the owners of a 1.4 hectare block of land on the Central Coast.

The site includes areas of rainforest which have been badly overrun by non-native plants. Our project is to restore the rainforest and to build an environmentally sustainable house on the site.

This blog records the bush regeneration work we are undertaking and the progress on building the house.

Photos from week starting 3rd October

Wow, now we really feel that we are in the end-game.  The biggest change this week is the external painting, the colour we have chosen, Tumbleweed, looks fantastic.  But there is also the granite work surfaces in the kitchen and laundry; the Ubatuba is incredible.  And, in addition, most of the remaining cupboards have been installed.

I will let the photos tell the story.

The walls of the north facade are no longer white

Tumbleweed finish on the west facade

The only thing missing from the north end of the building is the fence around the terrace

The east facade has been painted below the walkway as well as above it

The south facade with Tumbleweed

Steps have been built up from the carpark and a roof has been put on the bin/gas bottle storage area

The glass fence looks really good
The wardrobes have been installed in Peter's room but the doors are not yet painted

The walk-in wardrobe units have been installed

I wonder if we have too much storage space?  No, you can never have too much storage space!
