Welcome

We are the owners of a 1.4 hectare block of land on the Central Coast.

The site includes areas of rainforest which have been badly overrun by non-native plants. Our project is to restore the rainforest and to build an environmentally sustainable house on the site.

This blog records the bush regeneration work we are undertaking and the progress on building the house.

Photos from week starting 16th May

More great progress this week.  It is interesting to see the "blue board" starting to be installed on the south and east facades.

Also, this weekend we ordered all the kitchen appliances and made a decision on the tiles for the bathrooms (http://allstone.net.au/product/tiles/mercury-basalt/).  We nearly ordered the tiles for the lounge/dining room/laundry/terrace; however the lady in the shop said that they are having a sale next weekend which would give us a 20% discount. So we will hold onto our money for another week.

We have decided to go back to using the Centor flyscreen unit for the sliding doors so the brickwork adjacent to the doors has had to be sawn back by about 50mm to accommodate the frame

The sliding door from bedroom 3 into the courtyard and the bathroom/WC windows have been installed
