Photos from week starting 10th October

At last our front door arrived.  The good news is that the door looks great; the bad news is that the glass panel that is next to the door was made incorrectly and will need to be replaced.

However, the painter made really good progress inside this week and is not far off from being finished.



The front door has been installed as well as the steps leading up to it.

The book shelves in the study are complete apart from the handles on the drawers



This is a little cupboard door next to the oven. 
It opens up for the full height of the unit and we are going to use it to store chopping boards



The remaining glass panels in the bathroom shower have been installed

Fitting the flyscreens around the window openers is tricky.  The builder has come up with this neat solution of fitting an aluminium channel to the frame.



The channel will be powder coated in white and the flyscreen will sit on top of it



The ballustrade posts and handrail have been fitted along the walkway

Door have been fitted to the equipment room



Some more steps have been installed up to the west terracing

We started planting up some of the raised beds



These are strawberries.  They will need some netting put over them to keep the birds off

Photos from 9th October

A few more photos to show what we got up to on Sunday.

Putting the vegetable beds in place and then lining the bases with paper, straw and cow manure.  Now they can be filled with compost and then we can start planting some veggies.

Also, we took one of the stools that we have bought up to the house to try it against the breakfast bar.  It looks great.

Wow, now we really feel that we are in the end-game.  The biggest change this week is the external painting, the colour we have chosen, Tumbleweed, looks fantastic.  But there is also the granite work surfaces in the kitchen and laundry; the Ubatuba is incredible.  And, in addition, most of the remaining cupboards have been installed.

Photos from week starting 26th September

There were not so many big steps forward this week as most of the work being done was in preparing the walls for the painter.  However, it was exciting to see the coloured glass being fitted into the bathrooms.  This was one of areas where we weren't totally sure how it would turn out; but fortunately it looks fantastic.

The ceiling fan has been fitted in the main bedroom.  The design is really funky

The kitchen units have been wrapped in advance of the painter starting

The retaining walls around the carpark are finished and a new gravel surface has been laid

Last week I showed pictures of the drain that Kim and Amie built by the dam.  It really poured on Sunday and this photo shows how effective the drain is
